B.Ed admission

In our kindergarten days, some of us used to pretend as a teacher beating the stick on the floor. We used to mind the students in our class assuming oneself no less than the teacher of the particular class. They grew up with the dream of becoming a teacher and by reaching at the verge of completion of higher secondary standard, they got closer to the reality of their dream. D.Ed (Diploma in Education) has been the eligibility parameter to become a primary level teacher. This is two years program conducted by State Boards. One should score at least 50% in higher secondary to get enrollment in this course. Admission procedure for D.Ed is through counseling with state-approved schools with that particular state board. Admission for D.Ed starts around June-July session and can be traced with several modes of advertisements.

B.Ed admission

Those having the ambition of teaching to middle and secondary level students should enroll in B.Ed which is again two years program. Eligibility for  B.Ed admission is graduation with 50% marks. This course is conducted by UGC approved universities across the country. Those looking for Government jobs after completing Bachelor of Education course would require to qualify TET exam of that state for which he is looking to get the job into.

Those who wish to teach in colleges as professors would require to qualify UGC-NET exam after completing their Master’s degree. If one is highly ambitious, should go for Ph.D that enables one to teach in university colleges. The ultimate objective of writing this article is to provide information to those who are willing to become teachers but in the lack of proper knowledge, they end up choosing the inappropriate course in their learning phase. Appropriate guidance eventually leads to the desired destination.
