Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is the gateway course to become a teacher. As per details of the new education policy drafted, now One-Year-B.Ed-Course also will be offered for the aspirants who have completed their Master’s Degree. For graduate aspirants, the course will remain a Two-Year program as it has been offered as of now. Earlier the course tenure was the same for UG & PG aspirants but now PG candidates can save their one year in pursuing teaching courses.
Integrate-four-year-B.Ed-course has already been introduced by NCTE’s previous academic year. One needs to be 12th qualified with a minimum fifty percent score and can enroll in any stream out of BA-B.Ed / B.Com-B.Ed / B.Sc-B.Ed as per the interest of her teaching subject. This initiative has been taken to lure serious candidates towards the teaching profession. By now teaching was taken as a secondary career option after completing graduation if nothing happened primarily. After introducing an integrated program, teaching will be taken on priority and choice.
Two-year-B.Ed-course will remain intact for coming sessions up to 2030. There have been rumors of scrapping this course but NCTE has made it clear about being functional of the course. Many of the candidates are doubtful about B.Ed admission, D.Ed course pattern and other related inquiries. They can contact our helpdesk for a free consultation.
General, B. Ed Trendy Questions.
Ques 1. Is B.Ed one year course or two-year course now? I am planning to take admission this year.
Ans: B.Ed stands for the two-year duration this current session as the new policy has been drafted only, not implemented yet. There might be chances for next year’s execution as it involves quite a few complications before it is implemented.
Ques 2. I am doing my graduation and want to take admission in B.Ed. What is the process?
Ans: You must secure a fifty percent score in your graduation first which is eligibility criteria for getting admission. Then you can find NCTE approved college in your vicinity in Haryana where merit basis counseling admission process followed for enrolments.
Ques 3. Is it compulsory to do B.Ed to become a teacher? Can I teach in private schools without B. Ed degree?
Ans: To become a TGT / PGT level teacher, yes, it is compulsory to pursue B.Ed. For PRT level teachers, one can enroll for D.Ed instead of B.Ed. Although, as per NCTE norms, B.Ed qualified candidates can apply for PRT vacancy as well. If you are 12th qualified, go for an integrated B.Ed course rather than D.Ed which will make you more qualified.
